Experience
I graduated from Haverford College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in health studies. At the moment, I am preparing to enroll in graduate school and pursue an advanced degree in educational and social psychology, and then ultimately earn my PhD in clinical psychology. I've been working as a tutor for the past five years, helping everyone from middle school all the way to college with math, English, Chemistry, Biology and social sciences. Because I've been able to work with students of different backgrounds and skill levels, I've learned how come up with creative and engaging ways to connect with pupils in the classroom. My experiences have shown me firsthand how everyone learns differently, which is why I try to get to know my students so that I have an idea of what teaching methods do and don't work with them. When tutoring, my goal is to inspire my students to work harder and set bigger goals. I believe that self-esteem and motivation are essential components of success in the classroom and in the professional world, which is why also work to boost confidence levels and push my students to always challenge themselves. When I'm not teaching or studying, I like to spend my time reading Victorian literature or watching musicals at the theater.
